TERMS OF AGREEMENT
Effective August 26, 2026 – Version 2026.08
Welcome to Handyman Connection of Orion Township (“we”, “us”, “our”).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this website, our online content, and the booking or provision of home improvement, maintenance, repair, renovation, and related services (“Services”). By accessing our website or requesting services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
A. Payment
ALL payments must be made payable to HANDYMAN CONNECTION. Deposits are due prior to the scheduling of any work to be performed on your home. Accepted methods of payment include cash, check, ACH, and credit card. ACH and credit card payments are subject to applicable fees of 1% and 3%, respectively, which are subject to change without notice.
Payments shall be made in accordance with the payment terms outlined in the estimate and subsequent job order. If materials are included in the estimate, the full material costs are due in addition to the required labor deposit. Payments due upon completion of a Project are due within one (1) business day of the final invoice being sent.
Customer may not withhold the entire contract balance due to a disputed, incomplete, punch-list, warranty, or corrective item that does not materially prevent the Project from being used for its intended purpose. All undisputed amounts remain due in accordance with the payment terms of this Agreement.
B. Unpaid Balances
Any credit card chargebacks will incur a fee equal to 30% of the amount due and must thereafter be paid by certified check, cash, or money order. Returned checks are subject to a $60.00 fee and must be replaced by certified check, cash, or money order.
A late fee of 5% will be added to the amount due after seven (7) days of nonpayment. This fee will accrue at a rate of 5% every seven (7) days. This interest rate shall apply to any and all other fees, expenses, costs, postage, mileage, administrative costs and overhead, attorney fees, and contractual collection costs of thirty-five percent (35%) of all amounts due and owing (“Collection Costs”) resulting from efforts to collect any past-due balance.
The aforementioned interest rate shall begin running for any balance owed on the Project beginning on the seventh (7th) day following substantial completion of the Project and, for Collection Costs, on the date any unpaid balance is referred to an attorney, collection agency, or other person or entity performing collection services. Customer further agrees to pay all applicable court costs, expenses, fees, and expert witness costs associated with collection of a past-due balance.
C. Guarantee
For one (1) year from the date of this contract, the Company will repair, free of labor charge, defects in workmanship performed pursuant to this Agreement. This guarantee becomes effective only after Customer’s complete payment has been received and credited to Handyman Connection’s account.
Guarantee service is available by contacting the Handyman Connection office shown on the invoice. The guarantee is for service/workmanship only and does not cover materials associated with the work. Incomplete payment for any reason nullifies the guarantee and/or warranty. Warranty repairs do not extend the original one-year guarantee period.
Customer must provide Handyman Connection a reasonable opportunity to inspect and perform any covered warranty or corrective work before another contractor or third party alters or repairs the affected work.
THERE ARE NO OTHER GUARANTEES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AND THERE IS NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE OR KIND. THIS CONTRACT AND GUARANTEE ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.
D. Representations and Authority
The Craftsperson performing the work is not authorized to make representations, agreements, price changes, scope changes, warranties, or other commitments on behalf of Handyman Connection except as expressly authorized in writing by the Company. Any unauthorized representations or agreements are disclaimed by Handyman Connection.
Customer shall not direct or authorize a Craftsperson to perform work outside the written scope of the Project. Requests for additional or different work must be submitted to and approved by Handyman Connection and documented through an approved change order when applicable.
E. License

A mechanical contractor is required to be licensed under Article 8 of the Skilled Trades Regulation Act, MCL 339.5801 to 339.5819.
(b) If the contractor is required to be licensed to provide the contracted improvement, the contractor is licensed.

F. Estimate Proposal
All service estimates are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of the proposal unless otherwise stated in writing.
G. Virtual Estimates
Any estimate provided without an onsite inspection, including estimates based upon photographs, videos, measurements, descriptions, or other information supplied by Customer, is preliminary and subject to change upon onsite inspection and verification of actual job conditions.
Pricing and scope may be adjusted if site conditions, measurements, accessibility, required preparation, concealed or unforeseen conditions, existing construction, materials, scope, or other circumstances differ from the information available when the estimate was prepared. Handyman Connection reserves the right to revise the scope and price before proceeding with affected work.
H. Cancellation
Failure to cancel any appointment or confirmed work within forty-eight (48) hours before work is scheduled to begin shall incur an administrative fee of $275.
If the Craftsperson terminates his/her association with the Company or becomes unavailable before work begins, either Customer or Company may cancel the contract.
If Customer cancels after materials have been purchased, Customer remains responsible for payment of those materials in full, together with any other amounts due under this Agreement.
I. Materials
Customer may supply materials or arrange for materials through Handyman Connection as agreed for the Project.
If Customer has agreed to provide necessary materials and those materials are not available at the jobsite at the scheduled time, the Craftsperson and/or Company may adjust the Project schedule and contract price to account for lost time, additional trips, or delays. A $200 fee will be charged for confirmed appointments where Customer has agreed to provide necessary materials but those materials are not available upon the Craftsperson’s arrival.
Materials Customer fails to provide may be sourced by Company. Company-supplied materials shall be billed at Company’s cost plus a forty percent (40%) overhead and administrative markup.
If Customer supplies materials or directs the selection of specific materials, CUSTOMER ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL ASPECTS OF THOSE MATERIALS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO COLOR, TEXTURE, STYLE, SIZE, COMPATIBILITY, QUANTITY, AND QUALITY.
Additional trips, labor, modifications, removal, installation, delays, or rework caused by incorrect, defective, damaged, incompatible, incomplete, insufficient, discontinued, or otherwise unsuitable customer-selected or customer-supplied materials constitute additional billable work and are not included in the original contract price unless expressly stated.
THE COMPANY PROVIDES NO WARRANTY FOR MATERIALS AND NO REIMBURSEMENT FOR MATERIALS WILL BE MADE TO CUSTOMER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. SHOULD MATERIALS FAIL TO PERFORM PROPERLY, CUSTOMER AGREES TO PAY COMPANY FOR ALL WORK PERFORMED TO REMOVE AND/OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE MATERIALS.
Manufacturer warranties will be supplied at Customer’s request. Company is not responsible for supplier or manufacturer warranties.
J. Material/Subcontract Price Escalation
The price for this contract has been calculated based upon prices for materials and subcontractors at the time the Project was agreed to. Sudden price increases beyond Company’s control may occur.
Company will use reasonable efforts to obtain competitive pricing; however, should material or subcontractor prices increase after execution of the contract, Customer agrees to pay the applicable cost increase.
Any claim for payment of a material or subcontractor cost increase shall require Company to provide Customer written notice showing the increase compared with the original cost. As a gesture of goodwill, Company shall not charge its normal 40% overhead and administrative markup on the portion attributable solely to a price increase triggered by this provision.
K. Project Changes
All changes to the scope of work shall be documented in writing and approved by Customer. Payment for approved change orders is due in full before additional work begins, together with applicable material and supplier costs.
Change orders, Customer requests, concealed conditions, material changes, and additional work may affect the Project schedule and completion date.
Work requested directly from a Craftsperson outside the written scope and not authorized by Company through the appropriate change-order process is not part of this Agreement, and Company assumes no responsibility or warranty obligation for unauthorized services.
L. Project Permits
If permits are required for the work, applicable costs for obtaining, arranging, and paying for permits, licenses, and inspections shall be included in or added to the contract as appropriate.
M. Hazardous Materials
Customer is responsible for notifying Company and the Craftsperson of known hazardous materials or conditions, including but not limited to asbestos, lead, mold, or other hazardous substances.
Discovery of hazardous materials or conditions, whether known to Customer or not, is grounds for suspension, modification, or termination of the Project. Customer remains responsible for work performed through the date of suspension or termination and for costs associated with required changes to the Project.
HANDYMAN CONNECTION WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MOLD AND/OR MOLD DAMAGE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ASSOCIATED WITH MOLD AND/OR MOLD DAMAGE.
N. Substantial Completion and Payment
The Project shall be considered substantially complete when the contracted work is sufficiently complete for its intended use, notwithstanding minor punch-list, touch-up, adjustment, warranty, corrective, or incomplete items that do not materially prevent such use.
The existence of such items does not constitute an incomplete Project and does not entitle Customer to withhold the entire contract balance or otherwise delay payment of undisputed amounts.
Customer shall promptly identify any claimed deficiency or incomplete item and provide Handyman Connection a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, when appropriate, remedy the concern pursuant to the Company’s escalation and right-to-cure procedures. All undisputed amounts remain due in accordance with this Agreement.
O. Customer Inspection
Customer is responsible for reasonably inspecting the work upon substantial completion and promptly notifying Handyman Connection of any visible concern, alleged deficiency, or incomplete contractual item.
Customer’s acceptance, use, or occupancy of the completed work does not eliminate any applicable written workmanship guarantee; however, matters requiring corrective or warranty consideration must be submitted through Handyman Connection’s established service and escalation procedures.
P. Limitations, Existing Conditions and Concealed Conditions
Customer acknowledges that repair, remodeling, maintenance, and alteration work is affected by existing conditions. Matching existing paint, texture, stain, flooring, tile, trim, siding, finishes, materials, dimensions, patterns, or other existing conditions may not be exact. The Craftsperson will use ordinary trade practices to achieve a reasonable match when practicable, but an exact match is not promised or guaranteed.
Company is not responsible for conditions that were concealed, latent, deteriorated, improperly installed, structurally deficient, code-deficient, previously repaired or modified, or otherwise not reasonably observable before work began.
Discovery of such conditions may require additional labor, materials, scope changes, change orders, schedule adjustments, or suspension of work. Customer is responsible for additional work and costs resulting from unforeseen, hidden, latent, deteriorated, or otherwise undisclosed conditions.
Q. Not Warrantied
THERE IS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR WORK PERFORMED ON PROPERTY USED AS RENTAL AND/OR INCOME PROPERTY. THERE IS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE ON WASTE LINE CLEARING, DRYWALL CRACK REPAIRS AND/OR FOUNDATION SHIFTING. PLUMBING WORK IS WARRANTED FOR 30 DAYS.
R. Customer Access and Jobsite Responsibilities
Customer shall provide Company and its Craftspersons reasonable and timely access to the property and all areas necessary to perform the contracted work during scheduled working times.
Customer is responsible for providing access to utilities reasonably necessary for the work, including electricity and water when applicable, and for keeping children, pets, occupants, guests, and other persons safely away from active work areas.
Customer shall remove or secure personal property, valuables, furniture, electronics, decorations, or other items that could reasonably interfere with the work unless other arrangements are made with Company.
Delays, additional trips, lost time, rescheduling, or additional work resulting from Customer’s failure to provide reasonable access or a reasonably workable jobsite may result in additional charges and extensions of the Project schedule.
S. Scheduling and Delays
Any start date, completion date, or Project duration provided by Company is an estimate unless Company expressly guarantees a date in writing.
Company shall not be considered in breach for reasonable delays caused by weather, material availability, supplier delays, inspections, permits, concealed or unforeseen conditions, change orders, Customer requests, Customer-caused delays, lack of access, unavailable materials, illness, labor availability, subcontractor delays, utility interruption, unsafe conditions, acts of God, or circumstances reasonably beyond Company’s control.
The Project schedule shall be reasonably extended to account for such delays.
T. Work Stoppage
Company may suspend work when reasonably necessary due to nonpayment, unsafe or hazardous conditions, Customer interference, abusive or threatening conduct toward Company personnel, lack of access, unavailable or unsuitable materials, unauthorized third-party work, failure to approve or pay for required change orders, violation of this Agreement, or other circumstances preventing Company from safely or reasonably performing the contracted work.
Any such suspension shall extend the Project schedule as reasonably necessary. Customer remains responsible for amounts then due and for reasonable costs resulting from a Customer-caused suspension, delay, remobilization, or additional trip.
U. Project Documentation
Customer authorizes Handyman Connection and its representatives to photograph and/or record the work area and Project conditions before, during, and after performance of the work for estimating, documentation, quality-control, warranty, training, insurance, and dispute-resolution purposes.
Such documentation may include existing conditions, concealed conditions, completed work, materials, measurements, damage, deficiencies, and other Project-related conditions.
This authorization does not constitute permission to publicly use identifiable photographs of Customer, Customer’s family, or personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.
V. Customer Interference / Third-Party Work
Customer shall not interfere with Company’s performance of the contracted work or permit another contractor, tradesperson, or third party to alter, repair, remove, replace, complete, or otherwise perform work upon an area that is the subject of an active workmanship, completion, or corrective concern before Handyman Connection has been notified and provided a reasonable opportunity to inspect and remedy the concern.
If another person alters the affected work before Company has been provided that opportunity, Company may be unable to determine the original condition or cause of the alleged deficiency, and applicable warranty or corrective obligations concerning the altered work may be void to the extent permitted by law.
Customer interference, refusal to permit inspection or reasonable corrective work, or engagement of another contractor to perform corrective or completion work before Company’s right-to-cure process has been completed constitutes a material breach and may be grounds for suspension or termination by Company.
W. Termination
Company may terminate this Agreement immediately for any material breach of its terms, including but not limited to nonpayment, Customer interference, denial of reasonable jobsite access, unsafe conditions, abusive or threatening conduct, unauthorized third-party work, or refusal to provide Company a reasonable opportunity to inspect or remedy an alleged deficiency.
Should this Agreement be terminated, Customer agrees to pay for all services performed, whether completed or not, through the date of termination, together with other amounts properly due under this Agreement.
In the event disputes, pre-litigation services, and/or litigation services become necessary between the parties, Owner shall be responsible for costs, fees, and legal expenses as otherwise permitted by this Agreement and applicable law.
X. Escalation / Right to Cure
Should a concern arise during or following completion of the work, Customer agrees to follow Handyman Connection’s established escalation process. All concerns must first be documented with the Handyman Connection office at 248-918-0212.
When escalation is necessary, the matter will be reviewed by the Field Supervisor, who is fully authorized to evaluate concerns and make decisions on behalf of the Company regarding workmanship, scope, jobsite issues, and corrective action.
Customer shall provide Handyman Connection a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, when appropriate, correct or remedy any alleged deficiency before withholding amounts otherwise due, terminating the Project, or permitting another contractor or third party to alter, repair, replace, complete, or otherwise perform work upon the affected area.
Customer’s refusal to provide such opportunity, interference with Company’s ability to complete or remedy its work, or engagement of another contractor to perform corrective or completion work before this process has been completed shall constitute a material breach and may be grounds for immediate suspension or termination of this Agreement by Company. Customer remains responsible for amounts properly due for work performed and other charges permitted under this Agreement.
The Field Supervisor is the final point of escalation available to Customer under Company’s standard resolution process. Any further internal review or involvement of Company ownership is solely at Company’s discretion.
Y. Non-Solicitation / No Side Work
Customer agrees not to directly or indirectly solicit, hire, engage, or offer private or “side work” to any Handyman Connection Craftsperson, employee, subcontractor, or other service provider introduced to Customer through Handyman Connection outside of the Company. Customer shall not offer or make payment directly to such individuals, whether by cash, check, electronic payment, barter, or otherwise, for work that bypasses Handyman Connection. All current or future work requested from a Handyman Connection Craftsperson or service provider introduced through the Company must be scheduled and contracted through Handyman Connection. Any attempt to circumvent the Company or privately engage its personnel constitutes a material breach of this Agreement and may result in immediate termination of current work and loss of applicable Company warranty or guarantee coverage for any unauthorized work.
Z. Terms and Conditions; Updates
Handyman Connection reserves the right to revise, modify, or update its Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will be maintained at orionfixandremodel.com and will apply to estimates, job orders, and contracts entered into after the effective date of the applicable revision. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the parties, revisions made after Customer enters into a contract shall not modify the terms governing that existing Project. Customer acknowledges that the Terms and Conditions accepted in connection with the applicable estimate, job order, or contract are incorporated into and form part of the parties’ Agreement.
